LessC - Less Carbon Monitoring Application for DENSO International Asia

18 January 2024

In an era of rapid industrial growth Thailand has set a goal to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 and a net-zero emissions target by 2065, aligning with global objectives. DENSO has set new goals to revolutionize company operations and provide added value to society and customers, with a focus on sustainability. The company aims to reduce CO2 emissions by 25% throughout the supply chain by 2030. Additionally, DENSO has announced its intention to achieve carbon neutrality by 2035, starting this quarter.

In line with these targets, Solwer’s team developed an internal platform called LessC at DENSO International Asia in December 2023. This platform is designed to raise awareness among employees and encourage behavior changes to actively contribute to the organization’s carbon reduction targets.

The LessC application is tailored for internal office staff, urging them to actively participate in the organization’s quest for carbon neutrality by making simple adjustments to their daily activities. Employees are incentivized to record their daily activities that contribute to reducing carbon footprints, with rewards acknowledging their commitment and efforts. This initiative is crucial in achieving the organization’s net-zero emissions policy.

The LessC application operates like a game, featuring leaderboards for employees to compete with each other. Employees engage in basic activities such as using recyclable bags or turning off personal computers after work, resulting in a real-time display of reduced carbon footprints. They can record their activities daily, monitor their progress on a monthly and yearly basis in their environmental saving mission, and redeem eco-friendly rewards using their carbon credits. The platform also allows for the generation of summary reports for individuals and departments, with potential for department competitions or targets in the future.
